Ordering in the App Against Ordering at the Counter
The app carries the full customisation set, and that is the strongest reason to use it. Nine sugar levels, five ice settings plus Hot and Warm, a tea strength adjustment on many drinks and per-drink topping changes are all one tap each.
At a busy counter most of that gets compressed into a yes or no about sugar. The settings still exist and staff will apply them, but a queue behind you is not the moment to work through five choices on a drink you have never ordered.
The app also shows the live board for a specific shop rather than a general menu. That matters for the seasonal drinks, which rotate without notice, and for the Tea Labrange, which the smaller mall counters do not always carry.
The one thing the counter does better is timing. A drink with a whipped cream cap is at its best within about ten minutes, and an app order placed before you leave home has usually spent most of that sitting on a collection shelf.
The practical compromise is to order capped drinks at the counter and use the app for the fruit range and the cold brews, which tolerate a wait. The cloud-on-the-side option is the other route, and it is a listed setting rather than a special request.
