Bell Boulevard is Bayside’s restaurant and nightlife strip, and it carries a mix of Korean, Chinese and American businesses. A tea shop here is competing with established local operators rather than with other chains.
The store fills a real gap at the eastern end of Queens. Before it opened, anyone in Bayside, Douglaston or Little Neck was driving to Flushing, which is fifteen minutes west on a good day.
It has too few reviews to judge. A rating on a new opening moves by whole points with each new opinion and is better read as missing.
The Bayside Long Island Rail Road station is a few minutes away, which makes the store reachable from Penn Station without a car.
A new store is worth testing with something plain, since nothing hides a weak brew. Oolong Cold Brew at $6.50 is the cheapest thing on the board and the most honest test.
For a fuller order, Black Milk Tea at $8.49 plus Brown Sugar Bobo at $1.68 shows how the shop handles tapioca, which is the thing a new store is most likely to get wrong.
Bell Boulevard queues in the evening, in line with the rest of the strip. Weekday afternoons are the quiet window.
For a store with a track record, Flushing is fifteen minutes west and has two locations rating above 4.6.
